Malta é um dos destinos de praia mais populares da Europa. Minhas expectativas eram altas e, infelizmente, elas não foram atendidas quando finalmente tive a chance de ver por conta própria.

Malta tem uma bela costa e a incrível Lagoa Azul, mas, para ser sincero, o resto das praias estava longe de serem espetaculares em comparação com, por exemplo, os Balcãs. Eu posso ter tido essa impressão pois pouco antes de Malta, havia acabado de voltar do paraíso, a intocada Riviera albanesa.

No entanto, as cidades de Malta são únicas, construídas com impressionantes pedras douradas. A ilha também possui algumas estruturas megalíticas antigas; portanto, se você gosta de arqueologia, também encontrará algo interessante para você.

Gozo, the smaller island of Malta is full of beautiful natural attractions and most visitors who get there probably wish to see the famous Azure Window - natural arch stretching from the cliff into the sea. Unfortunately, Gozo's most popular natural wonder collapsed last week! So you might be wondering if it's still worth it to visit it. The answer is yes - here in this post, I will show you the other attractions of Gozo, and will probably surprise you when I say that Gozo has another "arch window" which is even more beautiful than the unlucky Azure Window that was swept away by the storm. Valletta - What To See in Malta's Golden Capital

Valletta is one of the smallest capitals in one of the tiniest countries in the world. Located on a dry, golden island of Malta, south of Sicily, Valletta will most probably be your gateway to the rest of the country. Although most of the tourists stay at the coast near the popular beaches (which, besides the Blue Lagoon, pretty much disappointed me), it's good to know the historical capital of Malta and see the unique, golden buildings, streets and architecture in Valletta. The city is also the main hub for all public buses - they are cheap and you can use them as an easy way to travel around Malta.

The Most Beautiful Spot in Malta - Blue Lagoon, Comino Island

Blue Lagoon, located on Malta's smallest inhabited island - Comino, with its clear turquoise shallow waters, golden rocks and dramatic coastline is without a doubt one of the most popular spots to visit. The bright sea illuminated by warm sun rays around Comino contrasts beautifully with the arid land. The only sandy beach sandwiched between the cliffs is beautiful but really tiny, so to enjoy the Blue Lagoon in the best way possible, get there really early or... avoid the beach itself! Take a long walk along the breathtaking coast, or hike to one of the other beaches - San Niklaw Bay or Santa Marija Bay which are really idyllic and quiet. Not only you can't even see the beach from where you are seated, but also you'll have to pay for it! Nevertheless, thanks to my friends who live in Malta, I was able to discover a different, more quite and exciting part of the island. If you're planning to visit Malta, don't miss the west coast! Not too many people know about it and if you are bored with the 'plasticness' of the resorts, do the trek and let yourself surrender by wonderful, original, and eerie moon-like scenery.
